regiw For all the lies I've ever told in my life, I never lied about the art I love. But perhaps holding back appreciation is holding back the truth, so I'd rather be truthful. It's been almost a decade since I felt so moved by a song by a new artist (well, new for me, at least). I've heard Crabapple Grove on repeat for days. It evoked so much beauty and satisfied a desire in my soul I didn't even know existed. Thank you very much for it.

“Crabapple Grove” is a tune whose basic melody my good friend & long-time musical companion Warren Malone first sketched out on a mandolin, which I then coaxed into a somewhat gentler, more pastoral shape — & which was then performed by me (on guitar & mandolin) and Kelly Halloran (on fiddle). I will be adding tunes to this “album” until it becomes an album in deed, not just in word.
